why the universe appears quiet
what i have learnt in recent times, and why we should all strive towards non-dualism
following a lengthy hiatus during which i feel as though my very psyche has been rearranged, i have thoughts to share.
upon reflecting heavily on the temporality of the material world, i have come to the realisation that most problems faced by the human race are absurdly manufactured. you are taught to place such high significance in the intricacies of your daily life, taught to fine-tune each aspect of your incredibly temporary being to fit the expectations of a model for which no living example exists.
it is incredibly easy to fall into this trap, because all you have experienced is earth. naturally, your worldview will be confined to three dimensions in space and one in time, your perspectives steeped in how we have come to understand human nature, not inherent truths but concepts you’re conditioned to accept. that is to say, it is completely meaningless. consider that suffering is real, but the value judgements we attribute to it, such as failure or humiliation, have no true relevance.
you might strive to perfect your routine, achieve your material goals, accumulate wealth. but the more you zoom out, it all unravels. ironically, the unravelling is strangely liberating, and suddenly everything changes. the exhausting project of self-improvement, alongside climbing the social ladder, becomes instantly weightless.
humans yearn for purpose, and we find that the universe responds through silence. this is not an attempt to discourage your personal spiritual view, i am simply encouraging you to explore non-dualism. the emphasis of separation between the human and the eternal energy has been one of the most painstakingly crafted illusions humans have been subjected to. your being is not dependent on the vessel you occupy, or the location you reside in, all other things being equal. you are not the content of consciousness, you are the consciousness itself- your individual, subjective experience, your underlying awareness in which all experiences arise and dissolve. therefore, you find the universe to be silent, because you are looking outward, rather than inward. avoid chasing illusory identities in search of meaning. such a race is one you are doomed to lose, because your participation is born from the mistaken belief that something about you is incomplete.
to witness beauty without looking for a justification for its existence is the highest form of human understanding. the universe exists because if it didn’t, you wouldn’t be here to ask that very question. consequently, there is no such thing as a miracle, because everything that is allowed by the laws of the universe has the possibility to happen. not only is this scientifically rigorous, it is spiritually humbling- the miraculous is not an interruption of the laws of nature, rather an exemplification of how little we understand.
this is not a concept that will be universally understood. it becomes simplest to grasp at the critical moment when the ego has exhausted itself in trying to hold the illusion of dualism together.
